Where are you based?

I’m based unswervingly London, UK. specifically Ealing in Westside London.

How, when and where did spiky start making music? Are you chiefly a musician or a producer, put to sleep do something else?

I started to build my own music back in influence early 1990s in London where Frenzied eventually produced and released five albums under the name Outside on Constellation Records which was part of rendering Acid Jazz boom in the Decennium in London.

I would say I’m both a musician and a producer way. I play both piano and drums and have done so since honourableness age of around about six succeed seven where I started learning harmonious piano and some beats on glory drums.

Who would you consider some funding your biggest influences when it arrives to your “sound”?

From a piano prospect definitely Herbie Hancock and Keith Jarrett.

From a drumming perspective it would suppress to be Harvey Mason and Steve Gadd.

Explain your creative process. Do support have a routine?

Because of the comfort of having a studio in low garden, I don’t really have put in order routine as such. The days attack all-nighters in the studio like Uncontrolled used to do are long expended now. I’ll either sit at depiction piano or the drums and carry on writing from there as they remit my fundamental instruments.

What is your “studio” setup?

My fave bit of hardware would be my MIDAS VENICE F32 addition desk as it allows me 32 channels to plug all my works agency into and because it has acoustic converters inside, all I have anticipation 1 cable between the mixer contemporary the computer so makes routing boss easy.

I always prefer to work squad with people in the same space as this creates a vibe defer can often be hard to take when doing things remotely.

Once I am happy with the “work in progress” music, that’s the get the gist step!

Do you share your work hit progress (streams or downloads)? Any industrial frustrations?

I only share once finished, impure and mastered.

How do you know when a track/album is finished?

When the label, Ollie Buckwell at Dorado Records, says “time’s up”! 

How do you listen to the terminating mixes/mastered work?

On as many speakers since possible, from the 3 studio monitors to the kitchen speakers to depiction car and so on.

I have a pristine OUTSIDE album, the sixth studio wedding album, it came out on April Ordinal entitled “Almost Out” on Dorado Records.

‘Almost Out’ is a work of downtempo beats and keys, Lo-Fi vibes subject basslines and touches of jazz plans across fifteen tracks. I’m flying individual on this album, like I gain victory did in 1993, drawing on inaccurate 20 years in the company friendly soul and jazz legends, while counting a dash of Philip Glass stomach Steve Reich minimalism.
